Mount Zion is a well-established Pentecostal Church in Fellowship with Assemblies of God in Great Britain and Ireland and is a member of the Evangelical Alliance. For over seventy years Mount Zion served the Community of Ystrad before finally moving to Tyisaf Road, Gelli in 1982.

We seek to worship God; to follow the Lord Jesus Christ in our every day living; to encourage all Christian believers in their daily walk with God, and by systematic Bible Teaching and Fellowship to promote Christian maturity. We aim to share – the “Good News” of the Lord Jesus Christ with everyone so that all may know and experience the joy, hope, and peace that only comes through faith in Christ.

Missionary Prayer Meeting At 7.30pm we meet for prayer. The service begins with hymn singing, and the public reading of the Bible, and then the Missionary Secretary will give an update of the work of one or two missionaries. Prayer requests are invited and prayer is offered on behalf of local, individual, national and worldwide needs. Everyone is invited to take part in public prayer. The service ends approx. 9.00pm.

Silver Lining commences at 2.30pm. This is an informal service that is open to everyone, but especially designed for folk aged 55 and over. The service is for approx one hour - after which, tea/coffee and biscuits are served. Everything is absolutely free. You will enjoy bright singing and a programme that includes a short interesting talk.

The Bible Study commences at 7.30pm and is usually over by 9.00pm. The service opens with a hymn and the public reading of the scriptures. After a short time of prayer the pastor, Mr. D. Clive Evans, teaches the scriptures. Usually a Bible Book is systematically studied.

From September to March, the “One Way” club is open to all children. This is a bright happy hour with games, quizzes, stories, singing and fun for everyone. During the year, parties and outings are also arranged for the children. Owing to the difference in ages there are two sessions, the first for children aged 5 to 8 this commences at 6.00pm until approx. 7.00pm and the second session commences at 7.15pm and is for children aged 9 upwards.

The 10.10am Sunday Morning Prayer is a time when we present the needs of the day to God in prayer and seek His blessing.

Morning Worship & Communion
The 10.30am Morning Worship and Communion Service is a time of thanksgiving. We are continually ‘asking’ but at 10.30am each Sunday we return just to give thanks with praise and worship. The service takes the form of hymn/chorus singing, the public reading of the scriptures and an open time of thanksgiving. We also break bread together to commemorate our Lord’s death. Afterwards there is ministry of the Word of God. The service ends at approx. 12.00pm
